Age Awareness training

Age NI’s Age Awareness training supports businesses to improve their customer service for older people, enabling staff to become more age aware and provide a service that makes older customers feel valued and understood.

The workshop duration is 2 hours and topics include:

  • Breakdown age stereotypes
  • Understand the challenges facing older people
  • Factors that can influence communication
  • Discover how to signpost older customers to support available for them

Our Age Awareness training provides independent and impartial information to help customer service teams receive expert advice, build confidence, and gain valuable insights to communicate better with older customers.

Age Awareness Training sessions were delivered by Age NI to Fermanagh and Omagh District Council staff and organisations represented in the Fermanagh and Omagh Interagency Forum. The evaluations were extremely positive and helped increase their understanding of older adult experiences of later life and how to improve their practice of working with older adults."

Age NI has delivered a number of really useful courses for our teams which help us to understand how to communicate more effectively and sensitively with our older customers. Our teams appreciate Age NI’s expert knowledge and appreciate the chance to be able to engage with them through the training courses, with plenty of opportunities for active discussions.
